Mia's room is almost done!

Enjoy the pictures

We started Mia’s room in September 2008- and Wow has it grown since the beautiful baby showers my sister-in law, Julie, and my sister, Cynthia and long time friend, Ashley had for us.
We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family that have been so supportive and very, very generous. We are so thankful to everyone and overwhelmed with their thoughtfulness.

We just can’t wait to have Mia home, but until then we continue to go in her room and dream of the day we can go in and our little angel is sleeping peacefully in her bed.

Well, it looks like another Christmas without our little Mia. We hope to travel in January 2009. God always provides, and I felt this song from Third Day's Christmas Offering CD was a gift from Him. It so reflects our feelings of the heart right now. Enjoy!

Merry Christmas
Words by Brad Avery (also adopting a little girl from China)
Music by Third Day

There's a little girl trembling on a cold December morn
Crying for mama's arms
At an orphanage just outside a little China town
Where the forgotten are

But half a world away I hang the stockings by the fire
And dream about the day when I can finally call you mine

It's Christmas time again but you're not home
Your family is here and yet you're somewhere else alone
So tonight I pray that God will come and hold you in His arms
And tell you from my heart
I wish you Merry Christmas

As I hang the tinsel on the tree and watch the twinkling lights
I'm warmed by the fire's glow
Outside the children tumble in a wonderland of white
And make angels in the snow

But half a world away you try your best to fight the tears
And hope that Heaven's Angels come to carry you here

Christmas is the time we celebrate the Holy Child
And we celebrate His perfect gift of love
He came to Earth to give His life and prepare a place for us
So we could have a home with Him above

It's Christmas time again and now you're home
Your family is here so you will never be alone
So tonight before you go to sleep, I'll hold you in my arms
And tell you from my heart
I'll tell you from my heart
I wish you Merry Christmas

She would walk to you by the go-cart with shouting as long as you call her name, and wish you could hold her or give her something to eat.

Feng Mei xia still has milk powder plus rice cereal as staple food now and 4 milk meals per day with 200ml for each meal. " The Pregnancy"

Our journey towards parenthood is not filled with pre-natal appointments, childbirth classes and maternity clothes...and it doesn't last nine months!

As of today (9/14/08), the current wait time to receive a referral from China is 24-30 months, and this time continues to change.

Until we receive our LOA(letter of approval) and can share a picture of our little girl we thought we'd share our ultrasound picture :)

“Not flesh of my flesh,
Nor bone of my bone,
But still miraculously my own.
Never forget for a single minute,
You didn’t grow under my heart
But in it.”

Legacy of the Adopted Child

Legacy of the Adopted Child
Author Unknown
Once there were two women who never knew each other
One you do not remember
the other you call Mother
Two different lives shaped to make you one
One became your guiding star the other became your
sun
first one gave you life
and the second taught you to live it
The first gave you a need for love
The second was there to give it
One gave you a nationality
The other gave you a name
One gave you a talent
The other gave you aim
One gave you emotions
The other calmed your fears
One saw your first sweet smile
The other dried your tears
One sought for you a home that she could not provide
The other prayed for a childand her hope was not denied
And now you ask me through your tears
The age old question unanswered through the years
Heredity or environment
which are you a product
of?
Neither my darling neither, just two different kinds of
Love.
